Dominion BJJ traveled up north today with a small competition team to compete at the IBJJF New York Pro. The level of competition was very high, and the team showed great heart and determination and everyone made the podium.
Michelle Welti showcased her skills in both her weight class and the open weight, finishing with a gold and a silver. This was a memorable tournament for Michelle as as she beat some very highly ranked competitors on the road to victory. Her only loss was a controversial decision in the open weight final.
Isai Cruz had a successful run in his weight class finishing with a silver medal for his efforts. He dominated his way into the finals and fought very well.
CJ Paris unfortunately took an early injury in his match and showed heart and persevered through the pain until the end and left with a bronze.
Bill Nagle lost by a late advantage and wasn’t able to recover in time to secure the win and took bronze.
